On November 28, the Overseas Special District of the Jogye Order of Korean Buddhism (Acting District Head: Ven. Jeongbeom) and the International Dharma Propagation Corps (Head: Ven. Munjong) co-hosted the 2nd International Dharma Propagation Day Conference, which coincides with the annual monastic training program for B.E. 2569 titled “Current Status and Propagation Strategies of International Dharma Propagation.” In attendance at the International Dharma Propagation Conference were Ven. Jeongmu, Director of the Dharma Propagation Office at the Jogye Order; Ven. Jeongbeom, Acting Head of the Overseas Special District; Ven. Munjong, Head of the International Dharma Propagation Corps; Ven. Junhan, Abbot of JustBe Temple; the President of the International Dharma Instructors' Association (IDIA); and members of the International Team from the Jogye Order's Social Affairs Office. Other attendees included venerables and lay Buddhists dedicated to international Dharma propagation.
“Disseminating the Buddha-dharma beyond the barriers of national borders and languages transcends mere religious practice,” said Most Ven. Jinwoo, President of the Jogye Order, in his congratulatory remark read by Ven. Jeongmu, Director of the Dharma Propagation Office. He added, “Your dedication and efforts in spreading the spirit of Korean Buddhism in foreign lands and practicing compassion beyond linguistic and cultural differences in multicultural societies are the hope for the future of Buddhism. You are a lamp that illuminates the world with wisdom.”
At the conference, Ven. Jeongmu, Director of the Dharma Propagation Office, presented on “Case Studies of Propagation for Children and Youth.” Ven. Hyeongjeon, Abbot of Borisa Zen Center in Las Vegas, spoke on “The Current State and Case Studies of Overseas Buddhism,” and the International Team of the Social Affairs Office presented “Understanding the International Work of the Social Affairs Office for 2026.” The event also included an awards ceremony and international exchanges between organizations.
