On May 20th, Ven. Jikwang, the president of the Eastern U.S Branch, Ven. Ingung, the abbot of Jogyesa Temple, Ven. Sunmyong from Wongaksa Temple, Ven. Youjin from Baeklimsa Temple, along with 20 lay Buddhists from the Eastern U.S. Branch attended the '2568 BE Vesak Day Commemorative Event' held at the UN Headquarters.
Jungbopsa Temple in Australia Held Celebration Ceremony for Buddha’s Birthday
On Sunday, May 12th, at 11 AM, the Jungbopsa Temple in Sydney, Australia (Senior Abbot Ven. Kihu) held a celebration ceremony for Buddha’s Birthday. The event featured various activities, including food stalls by CJ Korea Sydney Branch and the Jungbopsa Temple Buddhist Association, a demonstration of Korean tea culture etiquette, and a Hanbok (traditional Korean costume) experience event.
There is growing interest in Korean Buddhism among the locals, driven by the dedication of the Jungbopsa Temple Buddhist Association and its volunteers. Jungbopsa Temple serves as a bridge, making Buddhism easily accessible to Korean residents of all ages.
