On August 24, the Jogye Order's Midwestern branch delivered $5,000 in donations raised by Buddhists to James Ahn, president of the Los Angeles Korean Association, to help the victims of Maui wildfires. Ven. Myogyeong, secretary-general of the Jogye Order Midwestern U.S. branch, and Lee Young-mi, president of the LA Propagation Corps, attended the delivery ceremony.
