Each year, tens of thousands of people visit Kenilworth Park in Washington, D.C. to see the lotus flowers. Also, this year many visitors came to the festival despite the intense summer heat.
The event was supported by the Overseas Special District of the Jogye Order, the Lotus Lantern Festival Office, the Eastern US Branch, Bulkwang Seonwon, Hanmaum Seonwon New York Branch, and Geumgang Seonwon. Various activities such as lotus tea tasting, lotus lantern making, scripture chanting, and meditation were organized at the festival, providing visitors with explanations and hands-on experiences related to the symbolic lotus flower of Buddhism.
