Jogye Order of Korean Buddhism
MAHA ZEN TEMPLE
Maha Zen Temple was inaugurated in 2007 by a small Buddhist group on Long Island, NY. Based on the devout vows of Buddhist devotees who wanted to hold dharma assemblies and practice their faith, Maha Zen Temple was founded. At present the temple propagates Buddhism to Korean-Americans and operates a Korean language school. Each family-oriented dharma assembly is attended by 35 followers, and the Korean language school has 15 students. The temple also provides other programs including a summer dharma school, traditional coming-of-age ceremonies, and a field day to celebrate Dano.
