Baklimsa, situated in New York's Catskill Mountains, has been committed to the practice of Buddhism and the promotion of cultural and artistic endeavors, such as the tea ceremony, since 1984. The temple showcases beautiful wooden construction, adhering to the traditional Korean architectural style. Within its premises, you can find the main Buddha hall, a bell tower, the Samseong hall, the Medicine Buddha hall, a reclining Buddha statue, a Seon meditation hall, and Zen Art Gallery. Baklimsa, situated on a vast 660,000-square-meter expanse deep within a forest, offers a serene path for meditation, bestowing a sense of peace and happiness. The warm smile of the Buddha enshrined in Baklimsa inspires faith and devotion in the hearts of the visitors who are welcomed to savor a cup of tea by an artful tea monument and admire the calligraphy and artwork crafted by venerables. It serves as a refuge for individuals in pursuit of quiet contemplation. The temple regularly hosts Dharma services attended by approximately 80 devotees.
